Lady and the Tramp is a 1955 American animated film produced by Walt Disney and released to theaters on
June 22, 1955, by Buena Vista Distribution. The 15th animated film in the Walt Disney Animated Classics series, it was
the first animated feature filmed in the CinemaScope widescreen film process.[2] The story centers on a female American
Cocker Spaniel named Lady who lives with a refined, upper middle-class family, and a male stray mutt called the Tramp

Lady, a golden cocker spaniel, meets up with a mongrel dog who calls himself the Tramp. He is obviously from the
wrong side of town, but happenings at Lady's home make her decide to travel with him for a while. This turns out to be a
bad move, as no dog is above the law.





Da un racconto di Ward Greene. Ambientata nell'Inghilterra edoardiana è
l'idillio interclassista tra Lilli, bassotta civettuola dei quartieri alti, e Biagio, bastardino vagabondo che non
conosce catena. Romantico, con qualche scivolata nella leziosità svenevole, e frammentario, decoroso e trascurabile a
livello plastico e coloristico, con i momenti più felici negli episodi e nei personaggi marginali, il film è
interessante per l'impiego del Cinemascope “che esalta l'orizzontalismo dell'universo canino” (O. De
Fornari) e per la decisione di mettere al bando gli esseri umani (da sempre il tallone d'Achille del cinema disneyano),
rappresentati soltanto dalle ginocchia in giù, come gli assassini nei gialli televisivi. Non a caso prende quota
nella 2ª parte dove la componente canina ha il sopravvento.
